Honda Recalls 2010 Stateline, Interestate

Motorcycle Recall

Honda is recalling certain model year 2010 Honda VT1300CR (Stateline), VT1300CRA (Stateline) and VT1300CT (Interstate) motorcycles built from Dec. 17, 2009, to May 24, 2010 due to incorrect Gross Axle Weight Ratings. Honda says 3,184 units are affected.

Honda says an owner may be lead to believe the motorcycle can carry more weight than its certified to carry, which can result in overloading and potential for a crash.

The owners of the effected motorcycles will be mailed a letter containing a durable correction sticker and installation instructions. If the owner prefers to have a dealer install the sticker, he or she will be instructed to take their bike to a Honda dealer that will perform the work free of charge.

The recall campaign is expected to begin around Aug. 20. Owners may contact Honda at 1-310-783-2000. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or log onto safecar.gov.
