Ricky Carmichael, The Goat, Ricky Carmichael University
RC is the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T.) with 15 AMA National Championships and numerous records that will probably never be broken. He has stayed involved in motocross and Supercross since his retirement in 2007. Since then we have had the pleasure of keeping up with him with events like the 2 Stroke Invitational, which he still showed amazing speed, and announcing Supercross from time to time. Ricky is a class act and he continues to please his fans. Coming up in a few weeks is the inaugural Ricky Carmichael Daytona Amateur Supercross Championship that will take place on Sunday, after the pro Supercross race. Then on Monday RC will host Ricky Carmichael University, the first public riding school ever hosted by him.
Mad Mike Jones, Freestyle Motocross Champion
Mad Mike Jones, an American freestyle motocross competitor, with over 35 years of professional riding experience. He started his motorcycle racing career in 1972, and is often considered "one of the founding fathers of the sport of freestyle motocross". Mike is the 1989 world champion of Supercross, 1998 world freestyle motocross champion, and a 2001 Winter X Games gold medalist. In 2001 he was the first ever to win the Red Bull X-Fighters competition. Recently, Mike has been doing shows at the Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam.
Keith Dowdle, Assistant Manager, Honda Riders Club & Motorcycle Shows – American Honda Motor Company
Honda Red Bull Racing is coming off a great weekend with Davi Millsaps’ win at the San Diego Monster Energy Supercross this past weekend. Keith Dowdle is a veteran at Honda Motor Company with sixteen years working in the racing department. American Honda announced a 2010 Contingency Program during the opening round of the AMA Professional Supercross series in Anaheim California on January 9th 2010. The Red Rider Rewards program will support racing all across the United States by offering contingency payouts to a wide range of Honda-mounted professional and amateur racers during the 2010 race season.
Don Sakakura , Senior Vice President of Yoshimura Research and Development of America
Don started at Yoshimura as a race mechanic, and has worked his way up the ranks. He is the most successful race manager in North America, and has many championships to show for it. The racers who have ridden for Don reads like a who’s who of road racing. RIders such as Kevin Schwantz, Wes Cooley, Doug Polen, Dave Sidowski, Pascal Picotte, Steve Crevier, Miguel Duhamel, Ben Spies, and Mat Mladin, just to name a few. Through Don’s effort, the fabled Yoshimura racing team has won 10 of the last 11 Superbike championships. The Yoshimura team is known for its efficiency, ability to get the most out of a racing motorcycle, and attention to even the smallest detail. Over the years Don has built up the Yoshimura facility in Chino, California, to be the premier motorcycle racing shop in the United States.
Taylor Knapp, AMA Superbike Racer – RidersDiscount.com
Knapp recently signed a deal with RidersDiscount.com as title sponsor of his team to race in the AMA Superbike Series. He will be racing a Yoshimura prepared GSXR 1000 with Ohlins suspension. Knapp had a very successful season in 2009 in the Superbike class with a top five finish and consistent finishes in the top ten. He also raced in the Daytona Sportbike class where he had four top five finishes and a Superpole. 2010 promises to be an exciting year for this up and coming road racer.
