Charged Up
While it may seem that all battery chargers are created equal, a recent experience with a Harley-Davidson Rocker reminded us otherwise.
When the ignition switch was unintentionally left in the "auxiliary" position for a few days-something that is a little too easy to do on that model-the result was a completely drained battery. A standard battery charger purchased at a local automotive parts store was not capable of charging the battery enough overnight to start the Rocker the following day.
Later, a Harley-Davidson SuperSmart Battery Tender’s 750 mA output did the job in a few hours, much to our relief. The SuperSmart also works as a constant charger with the optional battery charging harness.
