Ducati Monster 1100 S | National Premier

Monster Motorcycle Contest

The arrival of the new Monster 1100 S is finally here. And as part of National Premier week, from January 9th through Janury 16th, a select number of dealers have been lured by Ducati into customizing a Monster for a national contest.

Many of the dealers took weeks to complete their creations, but now the finished machines are finally ready for your vote.

The winning Monster 1100 S will be on display for the remaining part of the International Motorcycle Show circuit. Long-time Monster fanatics realize this event continues the tradition of individualizing Monsters into beautiful creatures. Upon inspection, the new Monster platform is very suitable to uphold the customizable legacy.

In order to experience the Ducatisti enthusiasm during premier week, we visited Spectrum Motorsports in Irvine, California to enjoy some good company and see their competition entry.  The team at Spectrum collaborated to come up with the design and local painter Boris of California Cycle Design made it come to life.

First of all, the stock Monster is beautiful and makes the previous model look a little dated. Second, the Spectrum entry, finished with a Nicky Hayden inspired paint job, celebrates what the new Monster is all about-and welcomes Nicky to the Ducati MotoGP family for 2009 as well.
