Although there were some ups and downs with the weather, it certainly did not put off visitors attending the 11th BMW Motorrad Days. Over 30,000 of them flocked to the international meeting organised by BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles from July 1st to 3rd, with Garmisch as the venue for the 10th time.
2011 BMW May Sales
For the fifth consecutive month, BMW Motorrad has reported positive motorcycle sales figures.
In May, BMW Motorrad global sales rose by 3.5 percent to total of 12,568 motorcycles over the same month last year; worldwide a total of 48.749 BMW motorcycles were delivered to customers in the year to the end of May 2011.

On July 1-3, Garmisch-Partenkirchen will again be firmly in the hands of BMW Motorrad, Husqvarna Motorcycles (the second motorcycle brand of the BMW Group), and their international fan community.
This weekend will again see over 30,000 guests converge here from all over the world to celebrate the eleventh BMW Motorrad Days.
2011 Motorcycle Sales
In January, BMW reported a 23.6 percent growth in year-on-year motorcycle sales, a very respectable number in a challenging economy.
And this growing trend continues, as the German motorcycle manufacturer reported a 22.5-percent increase in year-on-year sales for the month of February.
BMW Motorrad can look back on an extraordinarily successful motorcycle season in 2010. By December 2010, 98,047 motorcycles worldwide were delivered to customers (previous year: 87,306 units), a growth of 12.3%. In a highly challenging market environment, BMW Motorrad has recorded the strongest growth by far in the competition.
BMW Motorrad can look back on a successful year in 2009 in spite of a very difficult market environment marked by the global financial and economic crisis. Last year 87,306 (previous year: 101,685) BMW motorcycles were delivered to customers which is equivalent to a comparatively moderate drop of 14.1%.
Just days after celebrating the inauguration of a massive new Headquarters/R&D facility, Husqvarna Motorcycles hit a major production milestone on Friday October 2, 2009 as the 25,000th motorcycle was produced in the Biandronno factory in northern Italy.
