Motorcycle vs Car Drift Battle

High Plains Drifters

A stretched 2005 Kawasaki ZX10-R piloted by Nick "Apex" Brocha goes head-to-head with a Corvette-powered Mazda RX-7 driven by Jim Guthrie in a high-speed drifting battle.

Nick Brocha (Kawasaki ZX10-R) says: "I’m probably gonna die," explains the motorcycle stunter with rather serious face. He had never felt comfortable with the idea of drift racing against a car on the narrow New Mexico track. Especially after he learned that the opposing driver was still "feeling out his new car."

But that’s the life and part of the risk, as it was told to the motorcycle stunter with less than a year’s experience. Of course Icon, being the motorcycle apparel company that set up this car vs. motorcycle contest, felt some level of responsibility for Nick’s safety and supply the safety gear.

As well, Icon set-up a dozen safety pylons in the middle of the track to control the drifting action.

Nick Brocha (Kawasaki ZX10-R) says: "Whatever you do, don’t hit those cones" he comments to the Corvette-powered Mazda RX-7 car drifter.

As long as Jim steered clear of the cones, Nick would never be in harms way. Watch this YouTube video to see all the action between the car-vs-bike High Plains Drifters.
