Ducati Team Testing at Mugello Underway

2012 Ducati Team MotoGP Testing

Following the Ducati Team’s best results of 2012 MotoGP at Le Mans over the weekend, Valentino Rossi and teammate Nicky Hayden traveled to the Mugello Circuit in Italy for a two day test, which began Wednesday.

The test began under rainy conditions, forcing Rossi, who finished second at Le Mans, and Hayden, who finished sixth at Le Mans, to remain in the garage. Around 10:30 a.m. local time, though, the conditions changed, and the sun completely dried the track.

Ducati says Valentino Rossi completed 55 laps, Nicky Hayden 52, as they began work on various configurations of the GP12’s chassis, engine and electronics.

Joining Rossi and Hayden at the test were team leaders Jeremy Burgess and Juan Martinez, and by Team Manager Vittoriano Guareschi. Test rider Franco Battaini and the Ducati Test Team, headed by Filippo Preziosi, were also present.

The team reports that the weather forecasts for Thursday’s final day of testing are favorable.
