2011 Piaggio Scooter
Even without hybrid technology, the Piaggio MP3 Hybrid is an outstanding machine, with its unique two-wheel front end with four articulating aluminum arms that allows the bike to lean like a normal scooter (with additional front-end security, of course).
The Hybrid edition uses lithium- ion batteries that are charged during braking and deceleration. All told, the electric-/gasoline-fueled powertrain puts out nearly 15 horsepower.
When in the hybrid mode 65-percent of the time and electric the remaining 35-percent, the MP3 Hybrid gets over 141 mpg.A rider-selectable button allows a rider to choose between four different operating modes.
