2027 Can-Am Ryker First Look: 11 Fast Facts
2027 Can-Am Ryker Special Series.

The Can-Am Ryker is a three-wheeler with two wheels in front, a handlebar instead of a steering wheel, and an automatic transmission that handles shifting. Since its 2018 debut, it has been Bombardier-owned Can-Am‘s entry point for people who have never operated a motor vehicle with fewer than four wheels. The 2027 Can-Am Ryker gets the largest overhaul the machine has had, affecting the engine, chassis, cockpit, bodywork, and much of the accessory catalog. Prices run from $9999 MSRP to $15,499.

  1. Senior Manager of Marketing for Can-Am 3-Wheel Vehicles and Motorcycles Marc-Olivier Drouin explains the goal of the 2027 Ryker changes: “One of the things we’re most proud of is the Ryker’s ability to attract riders who may never have considered powersports before. In the last 12 months alone, nearly half of new Ryker owners were new to motorcycling and more than a third were women. The extensive updates for 2027 build on that momentum by delivering a more refined, capable, and connected riding experience while helping make 3-wheel riding accessible.”

  1. The 2027 Can-Am Ryker lineup is three packages. The standard Ryker starts at $9999 MSRP with the 52-horsepower triple, Sachs twin-tube shocks, a 23.5-inch-high seat, adjustable footpegs, and a 2-gallon glovebox. The Ryker Sport, at $13,499, steps up to the 80-horsepower Rotax 900 ACE-9, KYB HPG dampers with a remote adjuster at the rear, a 24.7-inch seat height, cruise control, Sport mode, the Max Mount structure, a glovebox that locks itself when the key comes out, and tool-free handlebar and footpeg adjustment. The Ryker Special Series tops the range at $15,499. Can-Am’s 2027 lineup announcement does not include the Rally. Anyone who wants the gravel-oriented setup will want to consider moving fast.

Exploded view of the 2027 Can-Am Ryker

  1. The base Ryker trades a two-cylinder engine for a three-cylinder and gains two horsepower. Can-Am replaced the 600cc Rotax ACE twin, rated at 50 horsepower, with a 900cc Rotax ACE-6 triple rated at 52 horses. Can-Am describes the power and acceleration as similar between the two, focusing on reductions in noise and vibration. At a given road speed, the triple turns 500 to 1000 rpm less than the twin it replaces. Last year’s base Ryker was also offered with the 82-horsepower Rotax 900 ACE triple. For 2027, the base package is limited to the 52-horsepower engine, and the 80-horsepower version is reserved for the Sport and Special Series.

  1. Every 2027 Ryker gets a stiffer chassis and a reinforced steering system. Can-Am upgraded the steering column, pitman arm, tie rods, ball joints, bushings, and sections of the chassis, and refined the aerodynamics. The stated result is sharper cornering, more responsive steering, and a more direct connection to the road. The Vehicle Stability System was recalibrated to intervene more progressively, which Can-Am says gives the rider more handling freedom.

TFT Dash for a three-wheeler

  1. A 5-inch color TFT display replaces the old LCD digital cluster on every package. New handlebar-mounted controls come with it, putting ride settings and drive modes within reach without taking a hand off the bar.

LED lighting on a three-wheel vehicle.

  1. The LED headlights throw a beam that’s claimed to be 30% wider and brighter than the halogen units they replace. Signature lighting, the running-light element that gives the machine its face after dark, is included on some packages and sold as an accessory on others.

  1. The Ryker Special Series is a one-year-only package built on the Sport. It adds an Akrapovič exhaust, KYB HPG shocks with Kashima-coated front units, Liquid Titanium Aero wheels, a Magma Red handlebar, an exclusive panel kit, a dedicated wrap kit, and an exclusive seat design. The rear shock carries over from the Sport, with its remote reservoir, four-position compression damping, and preload adjustment. At $15,499, the Special Series runs $ 2000 above the Sport and includes everything the Sport has. Can-Am built it to mark the Ryker’s overhaul, and it goes away after 2027.
  1. Every 2027 Ryker gets a new seat, redesigned wheels, and new body panels. The seat is new across the range, with a different design for each package rather than one shared part. The Aero wheels take removable caps. The panel program continues with three Classic colors: Deep Black, Harbor Mist, and Orange Crush; one set is included in the purchase price. Three Exclusive finishes — Quantum Surge, Liquid Neon, and Forged Bronze — are painted, clear-coated, and sold in limited numbers. New wrap kits are available, one for each Exclusive panel set.

  1. Can-Am launched 27 new accessories alongside the machine. The audio system delivers 100 watts RMS and 200 watts peak, up from 50 and 130; it pairs to a phone automatically when the vehicle powers up. Storage roughly doubles, with Shad expandable saddlebags holding 38 liters per side and 76 liters total, up from 36 liters from a single bag. Each bag expands 40% and swallows a modular helmet. Also new are a 22-liter LinQ saddlebag set, a 3-liter tank bag, LED fog lights rated at 800 lumens each, a touring windshield with 2.5 inches of height adjustment, forged aluminum handguards, heated grips, and a heated seat. Windshield and cargo pieces now mount through the LinQ Nano system.
  1. Most accessories that fit a current Ryker will not fit a 2027 model. Can-Am says 44 existing accessories carry over, and everything else needs replacement. All existing seats and backrests fit the new machine, and the Max Mount structure is largely unchanged.

  1. Can-Am did not make the Ryker faster. The entry-level model gained two horsepower while reducing noise and vibration, and the entire line gets an improved chassis. At $9999, just $300 more than last year, the argument for the base Ryker is significantly stronger than it was a year ago. The value runs through the whole range, because Can-Am did not reserve the 2027 improvements for the upper trims; every Ryker gets the new chassis, steering, display, and headlights. The Sport ups output to 80 horsepower and adds adjustable KYB damping, and the one-year-only Special Series bundles an Akrapovič exhaust, Kashima-coated shocks, and its exclusive panel and wrap kits for $2000 more than the Sport.
