The 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide is the most significant upgrade to the touring bagger since it debuted in 2006. It gets a bigger engine, a redesigned batwing fairing, a 12.3-inch TFT display, more rear wheel travel, and standard ABS, and it weighs 18 pounds less than before.
Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-twin, up 10 cubic inches, with new liquid-cooled cylinder heads, airbox, and intake. It produces 105 horsepower at 4600 rpm and 130 ft-lbs of torque at 3250 rpm, gains of 19 horsepower and 21 ft-lbs. It pulls steep grades in 6th gear without strain, and the vibration felt at idle smooths into a polite rumble at speed. Harley-Davidson also claims an extra mile per gallon from the 6-gallon tank.
Sport, Road, and Rain modes set engine mapping, throttle response, engine braking, traction control, and ABS, and the Custom mode lets the rider choose each setting. The mode switch is built into the redesigned right-hand turn-signal buttons.
The new fairing, introduced on the 2023 CVO Street Glide, has integrated LED turn signals and an adjustable Splitstream vent to reduce head buffeting, and it is less affected by crosswinds and passing trucks. Behind it, the TFT runs Skyline OS with Sport, Tour, and Cruise display layouts, and a 200-watt amp powers the fairing speakers.
Rear wheel travel grows 43% to 3 inches, handled by preload-adjustable emulsion shocks, and the Showa Dual Bending Valve fork is retuned. Twin 320mm front discs replace last year’s 300mm discs. The Street Glide changes lines with little effort and stays stable in corners.
A new one-piece seat is designed for long-distance comfort, and seat height rises 0.7 inch to 28.1 inches. Cruise control is standard, and a tray under the display holds a phone.
The Street Glide is built for riders who want one bagger for city streets, long-distance touring, and sporting backroads. The 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Glide starts at $25,999, with Chrome and Black trims and eight colors.
