2024 Beta 250 RR Buyer’s Guide [Specs, Price]

The 2024 Beta 250 RR is a two-stroke trail bike built for fast, playful off-road riding rather than racing. The pair of Rs might suggest a racebike, but that job belongs to the RR Race Edition models, with upgraded KYB suspension and more aggressive motor tuning. The plain RR is designed for fun.

The oversquare 249cc single has a counterbalancer, electronic oil injection that eliminates premixing, and tool-free access to the air filter. A 36mm Keihin PWK semi-flat-slide carburetor handles fueling, and starting is electric.

Two power modes, marked by sun and rain pictograms, change the engine’s personality. Rain mode is not just for wet conditions—it makes the 250 RR tractable, pulling from just above idle through the midrange, which suits technical single-track and rocky trails. Sun mode trades some bottom-end snap for quick, high-rpm revving when the trail opens up. The mode switch sits on the frame above the fuel tank rather than on the handlebar.

The power valve is manually adjustable, so the rider can move the porting change to a lower or higher rpm. One setting serves both power modes.

The double-cradle chromoly steel frame and spot-on geometry allow precise placement on tight forest single-track and rocky hillclimbs. For 2024, a new radiator is lighter and more durable and allows a tighter turning radius, though the steering stops still limit the sweep on the tightest trails. At the highest speeds, the RR can get nervous, and Beta USA offers steering damper kits.

Suspension is a fully adjustable 48mm Sachs Open Cartridge fork and a linkage-assisted Sachs ZF piggyback-reservoir shock. For 2024, the fork’s internals are lighter, with less friction. Excel Takasago rims carry FIM-legal Maxxis MaxxEnduro tires. Beta pairs Nissin calipers with a 260mm Galfer disc in front and a 240mm Galfer disc in back.

A softer, reshaped seat makes long trail days more comfortable. The dash includes a speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, clock, battery level, stopwatch, top-speed recall, and a low-oil warning for the injection tank.

The 2024 Beta 250 RR is easy to ride across a variety of off-road terrain, and it is capable of friendly competition in lower classes. It is priced at $9899.
