Indian Motorcycle has released a co-branded apparel line with Hart & Huntington, the tattoo company and lifestyle brand founded by freestyle motocross legend Carey Hart. The IMC X HH Risk Takers collection includes men’s and women’s clothing and accessories such as belts, hats, stickers, and youth temporary tattoos.
The collection draws on Hart & Huntington’s roots in tattoo art and action sports culture. Hart founded the brand in 2004 when he opened a tattoo parlor at Palms Casino Resort, the first inside a Las Vegas casino. Hart launched with business partner John Huntington and no prior business experience.
Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company became well known through three seasons on A&E’s reality series Inked. The brand has since grown to multiple locations, including its current Las Vegas home at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.
Alongside the tattoo shops, Hart & Huntington developed a clothing line reflecting tattoo and action-sports aesthetics. It is the foundation of this Indian collaboration.
Hart’s path to entrepreneurship ran through a professional FMX career defined by a willingness to attempt what few others would. He was among the first riders to attempt a backflip on a full-sized motorcycle in competition, going for it at the 2000 Gravity Games before most of the sport had seriously considered it possible. In 2002 at the X Games, he landed one in the Best Trick competition. A career-ending injury eventually pushed him out of competition and into business.
“You either confront it or spend your life avoiding it,” Hart observed, “and both come with consequences.”
Indian is marking its 125th anniversary this year. Indian Motorcycle, which was recently acquired by Carolwood LP from Polaris, is framing the collaboration as consistent with its long-standing identity as a brand built on risk and reinvention. The name Risk Takers ties Hart’s FMX background and the tattoo world’s countercultural roots to Indian’s rough and tumble origin story.
The IMC X HH Risk Takers apparel collection is available on IndianMotorcycle.com and at select dealers.
