After a weekend off, the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series returned to action at Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. Hunter Lawrence racked up his second consecutive win and third victory in four rounds, extending his lead in the standings to nine points over Eli Tomac. Tomac finished in P3, over 33 seconds behind Ken Roczen, who trailed Lawrence by 2.4 seconds over the finish line.

After a Jorge Prado holeshot, Lawrence led every lap around Protective Stadium and was never challenged. However, it wasn’t so easy for runner-up Roczen. Roczen finished the opening lap in P12 and methodically worked his way forward. Roczen hit the top five on lap 4 of 25, picked off reigning Supercross Champion Cooper Webb for P4 on lap 6, then blew by Tomac and Justin Cooper the following lap to take over P2, where he stayed for the rest of the race.
Tomac ran in P3 for the first five laps, passing Prado for P2 on lap 6 before surrendering the runner-up slot to Roczen. Tomac fell well off the pace of the two leaders, though he remained comfortably in P3. Justin Cooper started in P4 and finished there, though he ran in P6 for laps 4 through 8.
Malcolm Stewart earned his first top five finish of 2026.
Malcolm Stewart took his first top 5 of the year, making the pass on Prado for the spot on lap 12. Prado was in P2 for the first five laps before slipping down to P6 for the second half of the race. On the last lap, Cooper Webb took P6 from Prado. Cooper Webb was running in P4 on lap 9 when he crashed, dropping him back to P8.
Ken Roczen minimized the damage of a poor start by finishing in P2 at Protective Stadium.
Farther back, Jordon Smith’s P9 finish was his first career top 10 in the 450SX class; it was also Triumph’s first top 10 result in the premier SX class. Grant Harlan (P14), Mitchell Harrison (P15), and Freddie Norén (P16) had their best finishes of 2026. Justin Bogle raced for the first time this year, finishing in P18.
Eli Tomac continued his podium run with a P3 finish.
Lawrence’s win moved him nine points ahead of Tomac in the standings, with Roczen now 22 points behind Tomac. Webb trails Roczen by three points, but has a 29-point buffer on Cooper, who is in P5 in the standings.
