LEGO Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure
Big adventure doesn’t always have to arrive in big packages. Sometimes something as small as 7-inches high can provide serious entertainment.
This is just the type of thinking behind the latest creation for BMW R 1200 GS lovers following a collaboration between BMW Motorrad and LEGO Technic.
Meet the smallest BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, available as a detailed LEGO model set that consists of 603 parts. Once assembled, the little R 1200 GS Adventure toy motorcycle measures 7-inches high, 13-inches long and 4-inches high.
Not only will R 1200 GS LEGO bike appeal to BMW Motorrad fans, but motorcycle fans in general; this is the first-ever LEGO Technic model to be produced with a motorcycle manufacturer. The Lego Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure goes on sale January 1.
“BMW Motorrad is very pleased to be able to share the enthusiasm for this bike with the LEGO Technic community. Two companies came together, both of them with a longstanding tradition to make emotional products for their customers”, says Heiner Faust, Head of Sales and Marketing of BMW Motorrad.
Working closely with BMW Motorrad, the LEGO designers replicated the R 1200 GS Adventure as close as possible, from the two-cylinder boxer engine to the BMW Telever front suspension. The LEGO R 1200 GS also has movable steering, an adjustable windscreen, black wheels with knobby tires and shaft drive
“The proportions of the R 1200 GS Adventure have been recreated outstandingly well in the LEGO Technic model. We are excited to see how LEGO Design has reproduced so many visual and technical details of the R 1200 GS Adventure. The close and creative cooperation between the two design teams was particularly impressive – it went beyond a conventional licensing agreement”, says Alexander Buckan, Head of BMW Motorrad Vehicle Design.
The LEGO Technic BMW R 1200 GS goes on sale January 1, and arrives with 3D assembly instructions. A LEGO app is also available.
