2017 Yamaha FZ-10
Yamaha gets serious in the naked liter-bike class with the all-new FZ-10. Based on the track-ready Yamaha YZF-R1 superbike, the FZ-10 gets a massaged Deltabox chassis and Crossplane Crankshaft motor to make it more effective on the street.
The suspension is the same KYB units found on the R1, but they too have been calibrated for the speeds and conditions found on public roads. High-end brakes are used at both ends, with ABS being standard.
Thanks to the ride-by-wire system, there are plenty of electronic aids, including traction control, power modes, and cruise control. Bridgestone Hypersport S20 tires are incredibly sticky, and they’re mounted on five-spoke aluminum wheels.
The FZ-10 gets the latest in clutch technology with the assist-and-slipper design, which reduces clutch lever pulls, and reduces the chance of the rear wheel locking up when downshifting aggressively.
