Husqvarna’s Ryan Sipes has added to his list of firsts in 2016. The Kentuckian became the first American to win the Individual Overall ISDE Award after a positive performance at the 2016 International Six Days Enduro, and now has won his first-ever National Enduro.

Sipes win came after a dominated performance at the Black Coal Enduro in Lynnville, Ind. Sipes won three of the six tests, earning the win. As for his fellow Husky teammates, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Josh Strang finished fifth, and Andrew DeLong 10th.

“I got my first National Enduro win today and it feels awesome. National Enduro doesn’t come easy to me as its way tighter and more technical than my motocross background. My hands are a little beat up from hitting the trees but I guess thats what it takes in enduro. At the end it was a really good day and I’m looking forward to the GNCC this weekend,” Sipes says.

Joining Sipes on the overall podium was Honda’s Chris Bach and Factory FMF KTM’s Kailub Russell. With his third-place finish, Russell clinched the title after nine of 10 rounds.

He became the first rider in the history of off-road racing to claim the GNCC and National Enduro Championships in the same season.
