2015 Assen Moto3 Results

The 2015 Moto3 race at the iconic TT Circuit Assen came down to a maniacal seven-way battle for the checkered flag. Throughout the 22-lap race that took riders 62 miles, the lead was swapped at nearly every corner.
But Red Bull KTM Ajo’s Miguel Oliveira was able to execute the perfect charge off the final chicane and held the lead to the finish line for his second win in three races.
Oliveira held off Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Fabio Quartararo by a mere 0.066 of a second. Taking the final podium position a mere 0.117 of a second behind was Leopard Racing’s Danny Kent.
Oliveira, who started from the second row behind pole man Enea Bastianini, claimed the lead going into the first of 18 corners. He remained in podium contention throughout, and held the lead in many laps until executing the perfect strategy to earn the win.
“I tried for many laps to lead and I was always overtaken. So I thought maybe to come second was the ideal plan. Finally I positioned myself to overtake him (Quartararo) although I was lucky not to crash trying to defend my line in the last chicane. This was an awesome win and I am super happy for me and my team,” Oliveira said after 2015 Assen Moto3.
Oliveira, who started from the second row behind pole man Enea Bastianini, claimed the lead going into the first corner. He stayed in podium contention throughout the race and held the lead in many laps until executed the perfect strategy to earn the win.
Quartararo’s teammate Jorge Navarro (-0.179s) finished fourth at 2015 Assen Moto3 ahead of Sky Racing Team VR46 KTM’s Romano Fenati (-0.252s). As for pole man, Bastianini (+0.526s), he crossed the line in isxth, 0.526 of a second back.
Red Bull KTM’s Ajo’s Brad Binder was the final pilot in the leading group of seven, the Russian finishing seventh, 0.540 of a second back. The next closes rider was Binder’s teammate, Karel Hanika, who finished 21.406 seconds behind. Rounding out the top 10 were Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) and John McPhee (SAXOPRINT RTG).
With his third-place finish, Kent extended his lead to 57 points over Bastianini, with Oliveira in third, 63 points adrift.
Following 2015 Assen Moto3 results, The series now breaks until July 12 for round nine at Germany’s Sachsenring.
