R&G Products KTM 1290 Super Duke R
R&G has now released a comprehensive range of protection and styling products for the new KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
The V-twin “Beast” from the Austrian manufacturer has redefined the ‘Super Naked’ class with levels of torque and power that require serious brain recalibration! With all that performance however, comes a need to minimize damage in the event of a drop or crash. R&G products will protect the “Beast” with a series of essential and industry-leading products at a fraction of the cost of genuine replacement parts.
The Aero Crash Protectors, which are easily installed with no modifications required, feature a teardrop-shaped slider machined from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) – a material chosen because of the way it actually slows a sliding bike down as it wears away. The bolts used are de-embrittled steel; working as a shock absorber to bend instead of snapping or staying rigid – which could twist its mounting point and cause further damage.
There are two options for guarding the 1290 engine with either R&G’s Engine Case Sliders or the AMA Pro Racing and British Superbike-approved Engine Case Covers. Both products require no special tools or the draining of any fluids. These guards will prevent dangerous oil leaks on the road or track and save you hundreds of dollars from replacing original engine cases.
Other protection products come in the form of the Exhaust Protector, Fork Protectors, Swingarm Protectors, and Axle Sliders.
Preventing damage from everyday road debris and stones comes courtesy of the Radiator Guard, in either Stainless Steel or Aluminum and the easy to install Shocktube that protects the rear shock. Frame Plugs cover exposed holes in the frame to keep dirt out while the Kickstand Shoe significantly enlarges the bottom of the sidestand to help prevent the bike falling over when parked on soft ground.
On the styling front, the Tail Tidy (aka Fender Eliminator) significantly sharpens the look of the Super Duke by replacing the standard, bulky license plate holder and allows the use of standard indicators or R&G’s various Micro Indicators. For solo riders, the Exhaust Hanger is a neat replacement for unused passenger pegs.
