This year, the glam rockers who became famous for their bad-ass attitudes in the 1980s – Mötley Crüe – are playing their final tour, aptly named “All Bad Things Must Come to an End.”
And on Tuesday, a very favorable announcement was made for those who will visit the 2014 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally – Motley Crue will take their tour to Sturgis, playing the Buffalo Chip’s main stage on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
And the news only gets better – shock-rocker Alice Cooper will be the special guest.
Rod Woodruff (President of Sturgis Buffalo Chip) says: “Mötley Crüe make their own rules, and that’s what our fans love about them. They don’t just do something because someone expects them to or quietly watch the world pass by. They’ve all lived crazy lives, and look where it’s gotten them. It’s inspired music that’s loved by millions around the world.”
Besides entertaining with hit songs “Kickstart My Heart,” “Home Sweet Home,” “Wild Side,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Shout at the Devil,” “Dr. Feelgood” and “Smokin’ in the Boys Room,” Motley Crue will provide their usual high-energy antics before the Sturgis motorcycle crowd. This is what keeps the band going decade after decade.
The bassist of Motley Crue, Nicky Sixx, recently told Rolling Stone magazine: “We believe artists should be in control of their own destiny and that destiny also includes when it should be done so that their fans can forever be proud.”
Along with Motley Crue, Alice Cooper will take to the stage with his horror-movie stage actions, which usually include fake blood, electric chairs and boa constrictors.
Cooper will rock the Buffalo Chip with songs such as “School’s Out,” “I’m Eighteen,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” “Billion Dollar Babies,” “Under My Wheels,” “Welcome to My Nightmare,” “Elected” and “Poison.”
