2013 Isle of Man TT NewsDue to nagging rain throughout this week’s qualifying sessions for the 2013 Isle of Man TT, riders were allowed little time to get some laps in around the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.
The situation caused Clerk of the Course Gary Johnson to make a postponement announcement. Johnson says the traditional opening race of the Isle of Man TT – the Dainese Superbike Race – usually held on Saturday will be held on Sunday instead.Thompson made the announcement just before practice began Friday evening under dry conditions. Thompson said the race will get underway at 2:15 p.m. local time Sunday, June 2.Though the Dainese Superbike race is canceled, the Sidecar race will go on as scheduled on Saturday.Speaking of the rescheduling of the Dainese Superbike TT, the Isle of Man TT reports “Mr. Thompson said he had taken into account the views of several riders that there had not been enough track time for the big bikes after practices were hit by bad weather.”For a schedule of the 2013 Isle of Man TT, including stateside TV broadcast times, click here.
