BMW Passenger Armrests on K 1600 GTLBMW K 1600 GTL Rear ArmrestFor passengers of the BMW K 1600 GTL luxury sport-touring motorcycle, the Bavarian manufacturer has just released a product that will add to comfort – Rear Armrests.
The Passenger Armrests, which are only available for the K 1600 GTL due to having a rear trunk, and not the K 1600 GT, are available as a dealer-installed accessory only.BMW says the armrests feature comfortable padding, enabling passengers to enjoy long trips in greater comfort. Ergonomically compatible with the standard top case backrest pad, they are hinged to facilitate mounting on and off the motorcycle.Owners of the 2012 K 1600 GTL may also wish to retrofit the larger passenger seat grab handles of the 2013 MY K 1600 GTL at the same time as installation of the comfort arm rests to further upgrade their passenger’s comfort experience. The BMW K 1600 GTL armrests are available at authorized BMW Motorcycles retailers at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $719.20 – not including installation labor.

This week, in the first segment Editor Don Williams talks to us about the new Kawasaki Versys 650 LT. It’s the middleweight ADV style machine that uses the same 650 parallel twin motor as the Ninja 650, so it’s an excellent performer in a user-friendly, good looking package.
In the second segment, I chat with one of my dearest industry friends—now retired Honda PR executive, Jon Seidel. Jon’s fascinating career spans some 30 years with Big Red, and gave him some great experiences with some incredible machines. I was fortunate enough to be invited on many of the press launches that he organized. His new project is documenting and saving many of the old archives from years gone by—and incidentally, if you have anything that may be of value to the project, please contact us by email at producer@ultimatemotorcycling.com and we’ll pass it all on to Jon.
So on that note, from all of us here at Ultimate Motorcycling, we hope you enjoy this episode!
