Hot Leathers, an industry leader in motorcycle apparel and accessories, was honored by the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce at its annual banquet earlier this month.

The Chamber awarded Hot Leathers with its Community Pride Award, which is bestowed upon a business that works to present Sturgis as an attractive, well-rounded community through the physical appearance of its property, landscaping and restoration efforts.

Jerry Berkowitz (Founder & President of Hot Leathers) says: “We’re truly honored to be a part of the Sturgis community, and this award means a lot to us, just as the community itself does.

“Sturgis, and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, are very important to us, our industry, and riders from across the country and around the world. We are proud of our relationship with the community and the rally, and look forward to many more years of supporting the community, its people and its businesses.”

Lisa Weyer (Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director) says: “Hot Leathers operates a year-round retail location in downtown Sturgis that is a cornerstone of our community’s revitalization efforts. It gives visitors with their first impression of the community and downtown area. Hot Leathers continually strives to be a model business. They most definitely lead by example, with renovation projects, store decorations and ongoing support of Sturgis.

“Jerry Berkowitz has been selling souvenirs all over the country since 1979 and at motorcycle events for 30 years. Hot Leathers and its parent company, Good Sports, is the leading motorcycle apparel company in the United States. The company employs more than 100 full- and part-time employees, and its teams tour throughout the country. The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce is happy to recognize Hot Leathers as the recipient of the Community Pride Award for 2012.”
