The only Honda company in India, Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), has begun a new aggressive plan to create India-specific brand identity.

This news was released at the Auto Expo 2012, India’s largest automobile event of the year in New Delhi.

During the Expo, HMSI says it adopted Honda’s global slogan, “The Power of Dreams,” and also unveiled seven new products, which includes the 110cc mass motorcycle Dream Yuga (pictured above), the sporty CBR 150R, a CB Shine, a CBR 250R (new color),a Dio in automatic scooter , a VT 1300CX, and a new CBR 1000RR Fireblade.

Speaking of the new branding, Honda says it “will expand its two-wheeler business in India and make its customers’ dreams come true by rapidly expanding production, launching cutting edge products at reasonable prices using Honda’s indigenous expertise in Research, Development and Design, and consistently delivering best quality service.

“The power of Honda’s dreams will continue to lead to new insights and technologies in motorcycle and other fields of mobility. Honda will spread the philosophy of ‘The Power of Dreams’ across India.

“A country where a billion people carry dreams in their hearts, the spirit of The Power of Dreams will be brought alive by Honda’s India specific Brand Identity “Sach Kardenge Sapne.” The slogan expresses Honda’s vision and our intentions towards the future: ‘To share our dreams with others and make them a reality’.”

Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India also had some historical machines on display at Auto Expo 2012, including the first mass-production motorcycle launched in 1949, the “Dream D,” and a RC212V, the same machine that Repsol Honda’s Casey Stoner won the 2011 MotoGP Championship on, giving Honda the Triple crown in 2011 for team, rider and constructor’s title.
