Since its introduction in 2006, Kawasaki’s Ninja 650 R has pleased masses of sportbike riders, from beginners to daily commuters to occasional canyon carvers

And for 2012, Kawasaki totally revamped the Ninja 650 R, the mid-weight receiving a new frame, suspension, bodywork, a lower and more comfortable seat, improved instrumentation and some engine upgrades.

Typical of the folks at Kawasaki, the manufacturer held a First Ride launch in California, inviting many moto-journalists, including Ultimate MotorCycling’s Kelly Callan. Hear what the journalists had to say about the 650 R in the attached video above.
