AFX Debuts FX-50 Open-Face Helmet

Motorcycle Helmet

AFX bills the FX-50 open face helmet as "the ideal multi-use motorcycle helmet (for) street, touring and cruiser use."

The FX-50’s shell is made of a poly-alloy composite, and AFX describes it as "lightweight and super strong." Inside, there’s a hypoallergenic, anti-microbial nylon liner. The cheek pads are removable for laundering.

The FX-50 integrates a permanently mounted flip-down tinted inner eye shield that can be moved into and out of place via a top-mounted slide switch.

If the owner chooses, the multi-position shield can be removed and still leave the visor mounted on the helmet. Or, the visor can be removed for a complete open face helmet. There is also an included side cover kit allows you to run the faceshield on its own. It is truly a convertible helmet.

According to AFX, the FX-50 has a roomy ear cavity making it easy to mount communication speaker. There is a four-point ventilation system for use in warm weather.

The paint has a clearcoat finish for protection, and the faceshield is optically correct, compound-curved, scratch-resistant, and protects the face from UV rays. An adjustable cam buckle-style quick-release retention system gives a personalized fit.

The DOT-approved AFX FX-50 comes in sizes XS to XXL, in a variety of solid colors including high-visibility yellow. Suggested retail price for the helmet is $95.
