Valencia MotoGP: Final Round Video

MotoGP Finale

In this YouTube video, the FIM highlights Sunday’s final round of the 2010 MotoGP Championship at Valencia.

One of the most fascinating MotoGP crash saves is shown in this video; it was on the second lap of the race when eventual race-winner Jorge Lorenzo bumped San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli at Turn 7, and almost lost his bike.

The 2010 MotoGP Champion was thrown off his seat, but somehow saves the Fiat Yamaha M1 from scraping across the pavement at Valencia. The great Lorenzo save would make him fall back to seventh. But he would work his way up to the lead with eight laps to go, and cruise to victory over 4.5 seconds ahead of Ducati Team rider Casey Stoner.

Taking the final spot on the podium was nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi.

The win at Valencia became the ninth for Lorenzo during his title-winning year, and he finished with 383 points, the most of any MotoGP rider in a season. His feat robbed the record for most points in a MotoGP season from his rival and 2010 teammate, Valentino Rossi.

Rounding out the top five on Sunday at Valencia MotoGP were Monster Tech 3 Yamaha rider Ben Spies and Respol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso.

The riders are now getting ready for the traditional post-Valencia tests, which will occur this Tuesday and Wednesday. At the tests, MotoGP riders will be testing their new machines out for the 2011 season.
