Yoshimura pipes-up at Daytona SX

Yosh Race Report

Daytona. This name strikes fear into the hearts of most Supercross racers. The torturous track has long been the roughest, most challenging track on the circuit.

In the first 450cc Supercross class race, Yosh rider Ryan Dungey spun on the start and got off the line in 6th, but at the checker, he had another heat race win and fast lap time as well. Things were looking good for Yoshimura and Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki. The track was really getting rough and rutted – it was Daytona at it’s best.

The second 450 Supercross heat saw Honda fill-in rider Trey Canard pull a big holeshot on his Yoshimura equipped Honda. By the end of the race both Canard and his Honda teammate Davi Millsaps made it into the main event.

In the Supercross main – Yoshimura rider Ryan Dungey was on the podium once again with a second place finish and a twenty point lead in overall points. Trey Canard rode hard all night and landed on the podium as well with a third place finish aboard his factory Honda CRF 450R. Yoshimura rider Davi Millspaps finished in 5th place, maintaining his 4th place in points.

Yoshimura rider Austin Stroupe led the Supercross Lites night off with a commanding win in his heat race. His Rockstar Makita Suzuki Yoshimura powered 2010 Suzuki RM-Z250 ripped to a huge win in fine fashion making a strong statement in the process.

In the Lites Main event Stroupe rode hard but came up a little bit short carding yet another 2nd place finish.
