Ultimate Motorcycling Aug/Sept on Newsstands July 28, 2009

Indian, the name is still synonymous with motorcycles in the minds of many. Neale Bayly rides the newest iteration of this iconic brand in the August / September 2009 issue of Ultimate MotorCycling, and takes a look inside the new company building America’s latest cruiser. Also, Kelly Callan rides the backroads of Georgia on Star motorcycles’ latest touring bike, the V Star 950 Tourer.

At the other end of the speed spectrum we have Rocky Robinson’s personal chase for the land speed record. It’s a fascinating story, with pencil rolls and blocks of melting ice. In more traditional racing, Arthur Coldwells takes a look at BMW’s entry into World Superbike, as well as the street-going bike that the racing effort spawned.

England is well represented with the new and the old. Basem Wasef rides Zero Gravity’s incredible Triumph Daytona 675, while Don Williams takes a 1973 Triumph X-75 Hurricane for a spin.

Our tests run the usual gamut, ranging from Suzuki’s track-ready GSX-R1000 K9, the shockingly rideable Confederate Wraith B120, the technology-laden crossover Honda DN-01, Jess McKinley’s great ride on KTM’s rally-ready 990 Adventure, and the back-to-basics Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom.

In the Clubhouse by Salvatore Sampino, we have casual apparel from Ducati, eyewear from Rock & Republic, and jackets from Lady Luck. The gallery is an immaculate Ducati GT1000 immaculately personalized by Beverly Hills Ducati. And you won’t want to miss Nathan Millard’s incredible journey from Sydney to London.
