    This Friday, Dani Pedrosa will celebrate his 10th anniversary as a World Championship motorcycle racer. The Spaniard has exclusively competed on Honda machines throughout his World Championship career.

    Since entering the 125cc World Championship on April 8, 2001, Pedrosa has competed in 164 races, finishing on the podium in more than half of those races.

    Leon Haslam has again chosen children’s charity SPARKS as his nominated charity for the year and in 2011 will make a contribution directly linked to his racing performance.

    The BMW factory rider will give SPARKS £10 ($16) for every World Championship point he scores in 2011 in addition to supporting the charity with its popular golfing programme.

    In Moto2 qualifying for the opening round at Losail International Circuit, Losail, Stefan Bradl (Viessmann Kiefer Racing) converted his practice session pace into pole position for the intermediate category race.

    A lap of 2’00.168 secured the German rider the first pole of his World Championship career to date.

    At the final pre-season MotoGP test in Qatar, Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo was unable to find proper setup, but was confident in the results. Lorenzo finished Monday’s session with an extended run to check on fuel consumption, ending the final test of the winter in eight positions overall on the time sheets.

    Used to see him flying over the World Championship circuits, it is paradoxical to think that a Motorcycling World Champion would not have a driving license.
