2011 Estoril MotoGP
For the fourth consecutive year, Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo piloted his M1 to the pole position at Estoril, Portugal.
When the 17-rider grid began qualifying, there was a threat of rain. In order to get a fast lap in early before the rain, Lorenzo started quickly, and then posted a 1:37.161 to secure to pole.
Following is a brief biography of Toni Elias received from LCR Honda, who won the inaugural Moto2 Championship in 2010. He is currently competing on the LCR Honda RC212V in the MotoGP class.
Growing up in the family bike shop in Manresa as the son of a ten-time Spanish motocross champion, Toni Elias was destined for a career on two wheels.

Jorge Lorenzo, Toni Elias and Marc Márquez were congratulated in person by the Spanish monarch for their achievements in winning the World titles in each of the three MotoGP World Championship categories in 2010 this Wednesday (MotoGP, Moto2, 125cc).
MotoGP Sepang 2
For the second time in 2011 MotoGP, the riders traveled to Malaysia to partake in the second of three pre-season tests.
The grid was welcomed at Sepang International Circuit with sunshine on Tuesday for the first of three days before the final test March 13-14 at Qatar (night testing), which is also where the season opener will be held on March 20.
2011 MotoGP Entry List
The provisional 2011 MotoGP rider line up was released Monday by the FIM. The 2011 MotoGP grid will consist of 17 riders who will vie for the championship throughout 17 rounds.
The two new riders on the 2011 MotoGP entry list are Toni Elias and Karel Abraham.
Click video to see the highlights for the last round of the 2009 FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix. The 2009 MotoGP finale took place in Valencia Spain on November 8, 2009. With pole-man Casey Stoner crashing on the warm-up lap the first corner shuffle saw Dani Pedrosa take the lead followed by Toni Elias, Rossi and Lorenzo, who quickly passed Rossi to re-take third. The first few laps were a mini battle between the Yamaha team-mates as Lorenzo fought to hold off Rossi and look for a way past Elias at the same time.
Valentino Rossi has had two victories at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, in 2003 on a Honda and in 2004 riding a Yamaha. Valencia is one of only four circuits on this year’s calendar where Rossi has not had a win riding the 800cc bike; the others are Losail, Donington and Phillip Island. His third place finish last year is his only podium at Valencia in the last three years.
Andrea Dovizioso had considerable success in the smaller classes at the Le Mans circuit, twice finishing on the podium in the 125cc class including a win in 2004 and also finishing on the podium three times in the 250cc class. Last year he finished 6th after dropping down to 14th early in the race after a clash with James Toseland.
Le Mans is one of Colin Edwards’ more successful circuits having twice finished on the podium – in 2005 and 2008; one of just two podium finishes he achieved last year.
