2011 Portugal MotoGP
Following a three-week hiatus from racing, which was brought on by the postponement of the Japanese round due the tragedy of the tsunami, the MotoGP circus is settling into Estoril, Portugal for the third round of the 2011 season.
Marco Simoncelli entered the MotoGP class with high expectations. In 2008 he won the 250cc GP World Champion title and in 2009 he battled closely for but just missed out on recapturing the full glory before stepping-up to the premier GP class.
Moto2 Portugal Test
Marc Marquez, the rising MotoGP star, turned 18-years old Thursday, and he celebrated his birthday at the Estoril Circuit, Portugal, where the third and last day of the Moto2 tests took place as scheduled.
Born on Feb. 17, 1993, the Spainard was last year’s 125cc GP World Champion and is looking to make his mark as he moves into the Moto2 class.
2011 World Superbike
Yamaha World Superbike Team riders Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty wrapped up the first World Superbike test of the 2011 season on Friday.
Completed over three days at the Portimao circuit in Portugal, Melandri and Laverty experienced challenging weather conditions as they put their 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1 superbikes through its paces.
