Saturday, July 30, marked the beginning of the "Raid Benelli Europe," a 3,000-kilometer trip to show all the attachment of the Benelli fans to our historical brand. During the ride that helps celebrates Benelli’s 100th Anniversary, 10 bikers will cross Europe to remember the historical victories of the "Leoncino" brand.
In the midst of a hectic, back-to-back MotoGP race schedule, Yamaha Factory Racing’s Ben Spies captured his maiden victory aboard the M1 at the famed "Cathedral" in the Netherlands last Saturday.
It was a double celebration, considering it was Spies’ first MotoGP win and the first of this year’s 50th Anniversary of Yamaha racing in Grand Prix.

Moto2 Spoiler Alert
Round 7 of the 2011 Moto2 Championship got underway in wet conditions, but turned dry as the riders lapped the TT Assen circuit in the Netherlands.
Since every team had rain tires on its Moto2 machine(s), by the end of the Assen race the tires were worn, causing multiple crashes.
Viessmann Kiefer Racing rider Stefan Bradl set an early fast time under darkening skies at Assen in the Netherlands to put himself on pole position for the Moto2 race.
He is joined by Marc Marquez (Team CatalunyaCaixa Repsol) and Simone Corsi (Ioda Racing Project) on the front row.
FIM Motocross MX1/MX2
The FIM World Motocross Championship heads to Glen Helen Raceway in California this weekend, the only US round on the 2011 calendar.
This will be the second year that the USGP will occur at Glen Helen, and the action is again expected to be fierce.

Valentino Rossi wrote another chapter in his extraordinary career at the Assen circuit in the Netherlands on Saturday, June 27, becoming only the second rider in history to reach 100 Grand Prix wins. The Fiat Yamaha rider also took the pole position, set the fastest race lap and took over the points lead in the 2009 MotoGP championship. Moreover, teammate Jorge Lorenzo finished a strong second and celebrated a personal milestone with the 50th podium of his young career.
Valentino Rossi, who is looking for his 100th career victory tomorrow, took his second pole position of the season in the Netherlands today with a commanding display at the Assen TT circuit. His Fiat Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo filled the third grid spot after just missing out with his final flying lap. Dani Pedrosa will start from second whilst Casey Stoner, who is joint championship leader along with Rossi and Lorenzo, will head the second row.
Dani Pedrosa had little time to recover from a hip injury ahead of his home round in Barcelona last time out, and suffered discomfort throughout the race weekend which he had felt obliged to attend in order to keep up with the MotoGP series leaders. The Spaniard has had more time to recover for the Alice TT Assen, with the idea being to ride in the Netherlands without the aid of painkillers.

The fourth round of this year’s Superbike World Championship takes place at Assen circuit in the Netherlands, and will be a new racetrack for the BMW Motorrad Motorsport team. Although Troy Corser and Ruben Xaus are very familiar with the 4.555 kilometre circuit, it will be their first time there with the new BMW S 1000 RR.
World Superbike makes annual pilgrimage to legendary Assen TT Circuit
The Assen TT Circuit in the Netherlands is the venue for this weekend’s fourth round of the Hannspree FIM Superbike World Championship. World Superbikes have graced the Drenthe circuit ever since the first edition in 1992 and despite it undergoing a major transformation in 2006, when it was reduced in length from over 6 kms to its current 4.555 kms, Assen remains one of the most spectacular events on the calendar.
