Supercross: Stewart Talks Anaheim | Video

2011 Supercross Video

In this YouTube video, two-time AMA Supercross Champion James Stewart discusses his excitement in returning to the series after a not-so-good 2010 season. The interview is from the pre-race press event for this Saturday’s Supercross season-opener at Anaheim, Calif.

The San Manuel Yamaha YZ450F rider was injured last year in Phoenix, James "Big Bubba" Stewart hurting his wrist.

After a six-month hiatus, Stewart and his Yamaha team returned to racing, competing in Round 9 in AMA Motocross at Unadilla, New York.

Stewart, 24, had an impressive result on his Yamaha YZF450F in moto 1, taking the final podium spot behind the Clement Desalle and series leader Ryan Dungey. As for moto 2, the Florida native didn’t have much luck, his race ending in a DNF. Both finishes gave him an 11th overall.

After Unadilla, Stewart wrote on open letter to his fans, saying him and San Manuel Yamaha have decided to withdrawal from the remainder of the 2010 AMA Motocross season.

But for 2011 AMA Supercross, Stewart will return to go after his eight AMA title (third in Supercross). JS7, who will be competing with rivals Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey, will be back on the track for Round 1 of the 2011 AMA Supercross Championship in Anaheim, Calif., this Saturday.

His new teammate for 2011 Supercross will be Kyle Regal, last year’s AMA Motocross "Rookie of the Year."
