2026 Southwick Motocross Fantasy Picks and Tips: 7 Fast Facts
Hunter Lawrence (#96), Jett Lawrence (#1), and Jorge Prado (#26).

It’s time for the legendary sand at The Wick 338 and the 2026 Southwick National. Only three points separate the Brothers Lawrence at the top of the 2026 AMA Pro Motocross 450 Championship standings. Hunter and Jett have combined to win every moto and overall this year. However, that may come to an end on Saturday. Let’s look at our 2026 Southwick Motocross Fantasy Picks for RMFantasyMX players, and find out why.

2026 Southwick Motocross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Lucas Coenen
Lucas Coenen.
  1. MXGP Championship Leader Lucas Coenen is returning to America for the 2026 Southwick National. The Belgian is known for his strong sand performances. He finished in P2 at both motos at the Thunder Valley National on a hillside in Lakewood, Colorado. If he can do that well in the Rocky Mountains, expect big things at The Wick 338, a bottomless pit of sand. I have Coenen, who will be sporting #104 on his jersey, down for the win.
2026 Southwick Motocross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Jorge Prado
Jorge Prado.
  1. With a strong sand pedigree from racing in Europe, look for a breakthrough ride from Jorge Prado. In a four-year stretch, 2017-2020, Prado won a Grand Prix at the Stedelijk Motorcrossterrein in Lommel each year. As recently as 2024, he was the Qualifying race winner at Lommel. Last year, as he struggled to adapt to the Kawasaki, Prado was the fastest in Q2 at The Wick 338 by a stunning 2.575 seconds. He ended up 5-6, as Jett and Hunter went 1-2. Expect the tables to turn in 2026, with Prado challenging Coenen for the win.
2026 Southwick Motocross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Jett Lawrence
Jett Lawrence.
  1. Jett Lawrence will go down swinging at the Southwick National. Jett has a three-year win-streak at The Wick 338, winning five of six motos in that stretch. However, Jett is still riding wounded. Between the physical demands of the sand and the competition from his brother, Coenen, and Prado, look for Jett to reluctantly accept a P3 overall.
Hunter Lawrence - HRC
Hunter Lawrence.
  1. Pro Motocross Championship Leader Hunter Lawrence will be playing catch-up. Hunter has won three of the last four Pro Motocross motos, so he has plenty of momentum. However, he is going up against three formidable sand riders. While I have Hunter in P4, he is certainly a podium threat.
Haiden Deegan - Yamaha YZ450F
Haiden Deegan.
  1. Haiden Deegan rolls into The Wick 338 with a 1-2-1-1 scorecard over the last two years. The catch? Those results are on a 250. While Deegan has done well in the 450 class for a rookie, with two overall podiums, he’s going to have a tough time beating Coenen, Prado, or either Lawrence. Deegan will be settling for P5 at the Southwick National.
Mikkel Haarup
Mikkel Harrup.
  1. If you’re looking for longshots to crack the top five, I have two for you. Mikkel Haarup is improving quickly and has had success in the European sand. RJ Hampshire went 8-4 last year at Southwick, so he is also a top five threat.

  1. The Wild Card is P15, which is always challenging, but I do have some names to throw into the hat. Mitchell Harrison is on a 15-12-15-15 moto run. However, that turned out to be P11 and P14 overall. Mark Fineis went 13-16 last week for 13th overall. Lorenzo Locurcio was P16 last week with 19-14 on his scorecard. Valentin Guillod’s 14-19 put him in 17th overall. Justin Barcia was P14 last week with a 9-34 score, and P15 at RedBud was Roan van de Moosdijk due to a 35-10 day, so those were outlier results. With Barcia and van de Moosdijk out of the picture, that moves Guillod up to P15, and that’s my best guess.
