Sygic Brings Motorbike Mode to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Slovak navigation company Sygic has expanded its motorcycle-specific navigation feature, Motorbike Mode, to work directly through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The update, version 26.4, lets riders view Sygic’s motorcycle routing, weather alerts, and terrain data on any motorcycle dash equipped with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

Sygic launched Motorbike Mode in March 2026 as a dedicated feature inside its navigation app. It was built with input from motorcyclists on the company’s own team, as well as the wider riding community. The app includes rider-focused routing, weather awareness, road elevation data, terrain profiles, lean-angle tracking, and a simplified interface built for use while riding. Since the March launch, Sygic reports that riders have repeatedly asked the company to bring that smartphone experience to motorcycle dashboards. Motorbike Mode now works on several touring and adventure motorcycles with built-in or add-on CarPlay or Android Auto systems.

Sygic was founded in 2004 in Bratislava, Slovakia, and its navigation apps have been downloaded more than 200 million times worldwide. The company built the first turn-by-turn GPS navigation app for the iPhone in 2009. Sygic claims it was the first offline navigation company to support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Beyond consumer apps, Sygic’s software also runs navigation for more than 4,000 commercial vehicle fleets and roughly 5 million professional drivers. Eurowag, a European payments and mobility company, holds a majority stake in Sygic.

The dashboard version includes the same tools riders get on their phones. Sygic added pulsing visual alerts that flag accidents, hazards, and changing weather conditions along a route.

iPhone users get an interface built around Apple’s Liquid Glass design language, introduced with iOS 26, designed to make the screen easier to read at a glance.

Other information on screen includes elevation and terrain data, a weather forecast for the rider’s destination, fuel station locations along the route, and routing options that favor twisty or scenic roads over the fastest path. Some of those features require Sygic’s Premium+ upgrade.

Sygic Brings Motorbike Mode to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: Motorcycle Navigation

“We wanted to create a navigation experience that truly reflects how motorcyclists ride and what information matters most to them,” said Sygic Head of Product Lukas Dermek. “Bringing Motorbike Mode to motorcycle displays is the next natural step in that vision and a direct response to what riders have been asking for.”

Sygic says the dashboard integration offers real advantages over phone-only navigation. A bike’s larger built-in screen can show more information at once, and riders can operate the app through their motorcycle’s existing controls instead of reaching for a phone. Riders who connect the system to their bike’s audio setup or a Bluetooth helmet intercom also get clearer voice directions wirelessly.

The Sygic GPS Navigation & Maps app is available on Apple’s App Store and Google Play as a free download with in-app purchases, including Motorbike Mode. In addition to any aftermarket dash running Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, Motorbike Mode works with select models from Honda, Harley-Davidson, and Indian that have a dash equipped with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
