2026 St. Louis Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: 9 Fast Facts

Just as it looked like we were settling into some mid-season predictability in the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship Series, Hunter Lawrence crashes and Chase Sexton crashed the podium gate at Detroit’s Ford Field. As we go into The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, chaos reigns in the 450SX class. Doing well in RMFantasySX league play will be more difficult, but that also means opportunities for big gains. So, let’s look at our 2026 St. Louis Supercross fantasy picks and tips.

Eli Tomac.
  1. The lack of official injury information is a big problem for Supercross and needs to be addressed. Given that Feld Motorsports is now promoting gambling on its Peacock streaming outlet, the playing field needs to be as level as possible, and that means injury reports. Is series leader Eli Tomac’s 1-2-3-5 run of declining performances due to injury? How is Lawrence doing after his hard fall in Detroit that left him in P18 at the end of the night? Gamblers and fans deserve to know the answers to these questions, yet they are not forthcoming. Given that, unless confirmed otherwise, let’s assume Tomac and Lawrence are healthy.
2026 St. Louis Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Hunter Lawrence
Hunter Lawrence.
  1. Hunter Lawrence was ablaze before this mishap in Detroit. Lawrence’s 1-2-1-1 run had him leading the championship series entering Ford Field, and left him four points behind Tomac when the checkered flag flew. Where you place Lawrence depends on your confidence in his ability to rebound from the crash. Lawrence was doing so well, and the crash was an anomaly, so I have him as top dog in St. Louis.
2026 St. Louis Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Ken Roczen
Ken Roczen.
  1. Ken Roczen looked great in Detroit as he barged his way back into Supercross Championship contention. His 5-2-1 performance might make him look like the favorite in St. Louis. However, aside from nailing down three consecutive wins at the 2021 Indianapolis COVID residency, the last time Roczen scored two wins in a row was in 2017. Other than that, Roczen’s only other back-to-back victories came in 2016. Given that history, I have Roczen down for P2 in St. Louis.
2026 St. Louis Supercross Fantasy Picks and Tips: Chase Sexton
Chase Sexton.
  1. Not too many people expected Chase Sexton to stand on the Detroit podium. Before missing three rounds due to injury, Sexton had a 5-7-6-7 scorecard. Ford Field was Sexton’s first podium since his A2 win in round 3. The injury and break may have been a tonic for Sexton, who is often strong in this part of the season. His ride last week earns Sexton a St. Louis prediction of P3.

  1. Justin Cooper is the current King of P4. With three consecutive P4s coming into The Dome at America’s Center, he’s the choice for P4 this week.
Malcolm Stewart - Husqvarna
Malcolm Stewart
  1. Riding the wave of four rounds of improvement, Malcolm Stewart has earned himself a top-five prediction. Stewart is 11-10-7-5-3 going into St. Louis, so you can’t deny his momentum. While another podium seems unlikely, Stewart’s results are undeniable. I have him down for P5.
Jordon Smith and Cooper Webb
Jordon Smith leads Cooper Webb.
  1. It seems odd to leave the Supercross Championship Series leader out of the top five, but here we are. Tomac has lost his mojo. Going 1-2-3-5 is not encouraging, and other riders are stepping it up. Tomac is a great pick for the top five, but I can’t find a slot for him given his recent performances and those of his competitors. There’s plenty of upside to picking Tomac, and he may snap out of his funk and take a win in St. Louis. However, this column is about riders’ momentum, and Tomac is moving in the wrong direction while others are upping their game.
Jorge Prado and Ken Roczen
Jorge Prado leads Ken Roczen.
  1. If you’re looking for outsider top-five riders, there are two. Jorge Prado and defending Supercross Champion Cooper Webb are certainly top-five threats. Of the two, Webb looks the most likely with P6s in his last two outings, which followed a run of seven top-five results. Although Prado only has two top-fives in 2026, lightning does strike with him, and he has gone 6-7-13 in the last three rounds. Prado’s P13 came courtesy of a collision with an over-optimistic, and later apologetic, Webb.
Garrett Marchbanks.
  1. The Wild Card is P11, and there are four hot tips. Justin Hill has been within one position of P11 five times in the last seven rounds. Shane McElrath hangs out in that range and is 10-12-14 at the last three rounds. Garrett Marchbanks has scored 14-10-10 in the last three wounds. Jordon Smith is on 11-9-11 run. A series of coin flips is as good a process as any to pick one of the four. I gave up and fed this year’s results into Grok, and our friendly neighborhood AI client recommends Hill based on performances over the last five rounds.
