Motor Bike Expo at Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
One of Italy’s most revered bike shows takes place every January in Verona – the Motor Bike Expo. But during the summer months, the Motor Bike Expo team does not simply hibernate – it brings its Italian energy and machines to all areas of the world, including South Dakota. Motor Bike Expo brought its international presence once again to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
During the 75th edition of the Rally in Sturgis last month, Francesco Agnoletto, a patron of the MBE, was present at the annual charity ride organized by world famous club Hamsters USA. This Hamsters biker association, founded in 1979 by Dave Perewitz, his wife Susan and Jim Leahy, has nearly 250 members including some of the world’s most famous custom bike builders (Ness family, Dave Perewitz, Paul Yaffe, and Ted Sands) and toured about 2,000 miles from California to Sturgis to raise funds for the Children’s Care Hospital and School in Sioux Falls.
The 15th edition of Motorcycles as Art was inspired by the theme “The Naked Truth.” Next to sponsors such as Metzeler and Jagermeister, MBE confirmed itself as the most prestigious event of the European custom scene.
New for 2015 was the Motor Bike Expo’s presence to the Easy Riders Saloon and Steakhouse, sponsoring Perewitz Custom Paint Show, organized by Dave Perewitz and his daughter Jody. The contest awarded the most beautiful liveries on display. Here too,MBE was next to brands such as Mustang, S&S and Kuryakyn.
Now Motor Bike Expo crew moves to Carinthia for the Faaker See European Bike Week, scheduled for September 8-13: during the event, as usual, MBE will be official partner of Custom Chrome Europe in CCE Ride -In Bike Show, before diving into the heart of the preparations for Motor Bike Expo 2016 in Verona, January 22-24.
