Red Bull KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak at France SuperEnduro2014 FIM SuperEnduro Championship ResultsThe 2014 FIM SuperEnduro series wrapped up this past weekend in Tours, France. And following his fourth overall win of the season, Red Bull KTM factory rider Taddy Blazusiak secured the 2014 championship – his fifth consecutive title in the FIM SuperEnduro series.
The Polish rider wasted no time, and immediately got down to business. Blazusiak wrapped up the title following the first of three Prestige Class finals when he slipped past Husqvarna’s Mathias Bellino with two laps to win the first race.Though he was on his way to earning the title, Blazusiak had much support from British teammate Jonny Walker, who took the Superpole and second place in the first final. Walker crossed the line with a good margin to veteran David Knight and KTM rider Paul Bolton. In the second final, both Blazusiak and Walker had to fight their way through the pack. Just when Blazusiak looked to have another victory, he made a mistake in the rock session. This provided an opportunity to Walker, who took the led over the logs obstacle and the ultimate win. He was joined on the second final’s podium by Blazusiak and Husqvarna’s Alfredo Gomez of Spain.KTM reports that With one win each on the night, this set up a two way battle for the two KTM riders in the last final to take the event victory. But Blazusiak by then was firing in all cylinders and went on to pick up his fourth overall victory in six rounds of the 2013-2014 championship. Walker was a comfortable second in the last race to assume his place on the podium and take third in the championship.Blazusiak’s 64-point lead in the championship is testament to the fact that he remains at the apex of his sport on both sides of the Atlantic. In the overall point standings, Blazusiak finished ahead of Sherco’s Knight, with third going to Walker.2014 FIM SuperEnduro Championship Round 6 of 6 in Tours, France Results: 1. This week, in the first segment Editor Don Williams talks to us about the new Kawasaki Versys 650 LT. It’s the middleweight ADV style machine that uses the same 650 parallel twin motor as the Ninja 650, so it’s an excellent performer in a user-friendly, good looking package.
In the second segment, I chat with one of my dearest industry friends—now retired Honda PR executive, Jon Seidel. Jon’s fascinating career spans some 30 years with Big Red, and gave him some great experiences with some incredible machines. I was fortunate enough to be invited on many of the press launches that he organized. His new project is documenting and saving many of the old archives from years gone by—and incidentally, if you have anything that may be of value to the project, please contact us by email at producer@ultimatemotorcycling.com and we’ll pass it all on to Jon.
So on that note, from all of us here at Ultimate Motorcycling, we hope you enjoy this episode!
