2013 AMA Motocross Onboard Video
Take a ride with the 2013 AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto on his first lap of Moto 1 at Thunder Valley AMA Motocross last weekend.
This POV video shows Villopoto en route to yet another sweep of a Motocross round.
The KX-F 450 rider entered Thunder Valley, round two of the 2013 AMA Motocross season, with the points lead due to sweeping the opening round at Hangtown.
And after dominating qualifying, Villopoto was once again the rider to beat, though it was much work in Lakewood, Colo. Villopoto had to chase down Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey and Muscle Milk Honda’s Justin Barcia for the lead in Moto1, but once out front no one could catch him. Villopoto finished ahead of Dungey and Barcia, respectively.
In Moto2, Villopoto began third behind Barcia and Smartop/MotoConcepts Mike Alessi. But Dungey didn’t take as long as the first race to take the lead; he got out front early, and was unstoppable. Joining the three-time SX Champion on the podium was once again Dungey and Barcia, respectively.
Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki KX-F 450 Motocross) says: “We got a pair of wins today and we’re really going to try to keep it rolling. With the way the racing is this year and the guys that are in the class, just to be up front means you’re riding well.”
