Martin Cardenas, the 2010 and 2012 AMA Daytona SportBike Champion, returns to the AMA SuperBike grid in 2013, piloting the Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000.
The former GEICO Suzuki rider, who holds the all-time record for most wins in SportBike (24), was recently at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in California, lapping the circuit aboard the GSX-R 1000 SBK.

Speaking of signing with Yoshimura Suzuki, Martin Cardenas says: “I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to race for one of the best, if not the best, Superbike teams in the U.S. It’s really a dream come true to become part of the Yoshimura Suzuki team. I will give everything I have to try to obtain the best results for the team and for me. And hopefully I will be in the mix for the top spot in the championship.”
The 11-round, 2013 AMA SuperBike Championship gets underway at Daytona International Speedway March 14-16.
