Stewart was once again dominate on the RM-Z 450, sweeping both motos at Freestone just as the Floridan did at the opening round, the Hangtown Classic, the week before. But unlike Hangtown, Stewart worked hard to keep his Suzuki in the lead. This was due to much pressure from Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey, who took second in both motos. Taking third in both motos was MotoConcepts Suzuki’s Mike Alessi.James Stewart (Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z 450 Motocross) says: “I thought my day went good,” said Stewart, who’s 18th-career win ties him for fourth on the all-time wins list. “It was a tough one, but fun. I got two good starts, made quick passes, and set the tone with a good pace. Ryan rode really well, but I did my own (thing) out front. I knew he’d be there the whole time. I felt like we were even today and if he had gotten out front, he could have done the same thing.”With his win, Stewart now has a perfect 100 points, but only 14 back is Dungey. Sitting in third with 70 points is Alessi.Attached above are video highlights of 2012 Freestone Raceway AMA Motocross; for a report, click here.
