Ducati’s Checa: Santa on a Multistrada Sleigh

As Christmas nears, the inbox here at UltimateMotorCycling.com is filled with holiday greetings from various players throughout the motorcycle industry.

But the maker of the 1199 Panigale took things just a bit further, releasing this comical video of 2011 World Superbike Checa apparently playing the role of Santa Claus as part of "Winter Testing."

Donning his typical leathers, Checa didn’t pilot any sleigh, though, and instead delivered packages to doors via a snow-colored Ducati Multistrada.

And who better to play this character than Carlos Checa? The Althea 1198R rider was definitely the Italian manufacturer’s main gift-giver throughout 2011; Checa deliver Ducati its 14th World Superbike title after a dominating performance.

But that’s not all; Checa entered the history books after taking 15 race wins in a season; the only rider to win more is Doug Polen, who took 17 (Ducati, 1991).
