BMW has officially started marketing the BMW F 800 R, the second model provided by BMW Motorrad Brazil under the CKD regime (Complete Knock Down), in Manaus, Brazil.
The brand adopted the present assembly process late in 2009, when BMW began producing the G 650 GS, BMW’s first motorcycle to be assembled in Brazil, in collaboration with Dafra Motorcycles, which has become absolute sales blockbuster.
With the production of this model, BMW Motorrad Brazil reached 7th place in worldwide sales within BMW Motorrad. In the first quarter of 2011, over 300 G 650 GS units were delivered to customers, showing a strong Brazilian consumer acceptance. The sales success and expansion of the BMW Motorrad dealers led to thinking of another model to produce in the country.
The BMW F 800 R is a “naked” motorcycle aimed for the medium segment. Sporty and designed for dynamic driving, it provides maximum driving pleasure. Being a roadster, the model’s great features, on top of the sportiness, are comfortable seats for both the driver and passenger, offering exceptional levels of security, one of the classic virtues of BMW brand models.
With a two-cylinder engine, a maximum power of 64 kW/87 hp at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque of 86 Nm at 6,000 rpm, the F 800 R has a great capacity for recovery and acceleration, factors that provide greater satisfaction, especially on winding roads.
