2011 Dos Sertoes Rally
KTM factory rally rider and three times Dakar winner Cyril Despres on Friday completed the more than 4000-kilometer 19th edition of the Dos Sertoes Rally right through Brazil, winning the 10-day event by just a little over two minutes. It was his second Dos Sertoes title as he also won here in 2006.
Cyril Despres iReport
More fun in the sun here in Brazil, the same as it has been every day since I got here. Yesterday there was just a hundredth of a second between second place Felipe Zanol and me. Today was another tight stage.
It was not the most interesting stage I have ever been on in my life, the first part was just straight and fast.

After working on a number of custom V8-motorcycle projects to help out friends, Amadeu Ferreira Junior decided to use his mechanical engineer background to build a V8 motorcycle for himself. He built two wild looking custom bikes based around a fuel injected 350 cubic inch engine. At the same time he started the Cosmos Muscle Bike Company not far from his home in Brazil.
Musquin needed only victory in the first moto to assure him of his place in the history books but left matters tidy by repeating his charge to the chequered flag in the second race. The Frenchman’s closest rival for the title was his factory teammate Rui Goncalves who finished second overall for a double victory for the Austrian sports motorcycle specialists.
