History was made at Snetterton in the UK on Friday when the first ever full motorcycle laps were completed on the new "300" circuit layout, with reigning British Superbike Evo champion and Honda rider Steve Brogan taking to the track, joined by MCN Editor Marc Potter.
The Superbike track became operational last week after extensive redevelopment over the winter and BSB’s Brogan took to the track for the first laps Monday on a Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR.
Steve Brogan said: "To be the first person to ever do a lap of the new circuit was awesome; it has been transformed and it will definitely produce more exciting racing without a doubt.
The viewing is great and the fans will get an even better show at British Superbike in July as there are far more overtaking opportunities now and some places we can push that bit harder. I wasn’t expecting such a difference and this will be one of the top tracks in the country now."
Marc Potter said: "You need a completely new mindset when you ride the Snetterton 300 as the first section is like a brand new track, but then it has still kept some of the best features of the original layout. It is a whole new experience now, both for riders and spectators and the access will be great for viewing. The racing is going to be amazing here and Snetterton has now become a destination rather than just a track."
