MotoGP: Biaggi Says Stoner a Threat

2011 MotoGP Championship

Max Biaggi claims that Casey Stoner could be the man to challenge Jorge Lorenzo in 2011, but the World Superbike champion admits that his money is on the Yamaha rider next season.

Biaggi, who left MotoGP in 2005 before becoming World Superbike Champion five years later, claims that Casey Stoner is the main threat to Lorenzo’s crown next season after moving to Honda from Ducati.

But the Italian, who has 13-race wins to his name in the MotoGP class, conceded that Lorenzo’s dominant performances last season make him the deserved favourite for next year, adding that he considers him to be the man to beat.

Biaggi also failed to mention rival Valentino Rossi in the championship shake-up, who moves to Ducati in 2011. Biaggi recently commented about this at the Gazetta dello Sport, the notorious Italian Sports Newspaper.

Max Biaggi says: "Lorenzo had an outstanding season and did a great job – it was really good. I am convinced that he will be the man to beat again next year. But beware Stoner."
