Memphis Shades has long been a benefactor for St. Jude by maintaining a customer service policy wherein responses are sent at no charge with a note that says in part "If paying is the right thing to do, please make out a check to St.Jude Children’s Hospital and mail it to Memphis Shades." Customers’ generosity has been amazing, with total contributions surpassing $100,000.Allen Mueller (Memphis Shades President) says: "We’re excited to be involved in the Wings Across Tennessee Charity Ride because St. Jude is a Memphis charity hospital that treats children from all over the world, regardless of ability to pay, and today their cure rate for many childhood cancers is over 90 percent. This ride not only gives us the opportunity to support the Gold Wing Road Riders but St. Jude as well."The GWRRA is one of a growing number of motorcycle enthusiast clubs that participate in Cruisin’ for St. Jude – a national motorcycle based program that helps raise funds to save the lives of children battling cancer and other catastrophic diseases. The Tennessee chapter has raised over $1 million for the charity. The event leaves Friday morning at 9:00 am from Atlas Honda in Bristol, TN and completes the first day in Dickson, TN.
