Sturgis News

For the first time in four years, Guns N’ Roses will play a U.S. concert…and what could possibly be a better venue for the band than Sturgis, one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the country.

One of the original bad-boy bands of the 80s will be performing at Rock N’ Rev Festival, which is a five-day concert at Monkey Rock in Sturgis Aug. 9-13. Over 20 rock bands will be playing, including Godsmack, Creed, Stone Temple Pilots, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Wolfmother, Hinder and Skillet.

Guns N’ Roses will be performing with Alice in Chains on Friday the 13th. The band has spent the past year playing in South America, but now are returning to their country to perform before the crowd of mostly Harley-Davidson riders at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Besides being their first concert on U.S. soil in four years. The band’s last performance was during the 2006 Chinese Democracy tour, which was canceled so Axl Rose could finish the final GN’R album, Chinese Democracy (released in 2008).

This is also reportedly Guns N’ Roses only North American concert for 2010.

Tickets for the Rock N’ Rev Festival are $45 per day, or $150 for a five-day pass. A VIP “platinum package” is also available for $300 a day, or $1,000 for five days. The VIP package gets you access to private bars, luxury bathrooms and motorcycle parking.
