Harley’s new Accessory Warranty Program

Harley-Davidson has added new opportunities for owners of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles to take advantage of its Custom Coverage warranty program for Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.
The program provides warranty coverage for any street-legal, Genuine Motor Accessory items installed on the motorcycle by an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer at the time of sale, and within 60 days of the initial purchase, as part of the motorcycle’s 24-month warranty. Most Genuine Motor accessories purchased after the 60-day period are covered by a 90-day warranty.
A change to the program now lets the Harley-Davidson owner receive Custom Coverage protection for Genuine Motor Accessories purchased and installed by an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer within 60 days of the initial purchase date.
The program previously only covered accessories installed by the original selling dealer. The program also now provides coverage for items that were backordered and thus not installed within 60-days following the original sale. These changes went into effect on April 1, 2010, and are not retroactive.
The 60-day window in the Custom Coverage program is a key benefit for new Harley-Davidson owners, as it gives them time to use the motorcycle and then decide how they might like to personalize it to match their physique, riding style, local climate and taste in customizing.
