Troy Lee Designs to MotoGP Qatar

The greatest show on two wheels kicks off this weekend in Qatar with the much-anticipated start of the 2010 MotoGP World Championships. Of particular interest to Stateside fans are a trio of America’s biggest motorcycle talents as former champ Nicky Hayden (The Kentucky Kid) is joined this season by "Team Texas" – Ben Spies and Colin Edwards.

Joining them on the grid to further fly the stars & stripes will be another American, Troy Lee Designs (TLD). The 2010 season marks TLD’s first MotoGP appearance as sponsor of the Rizla Suzuki team of Loris Capirossi and Alvaro Bautista. From bikes and helmets to team pit apparel, the Rizla Suzuki team exudes a distinctive style and influence created by the man himself, Troy Lee.

Troy Lee says: "I have always loved MotoGP and really wanted to become involved. When an opportunity to become a partial sponsor of the Rizla Suzuki team and design all their artwork and clothing, I couldn’t resist," Lee offered enthusiastically.

"I also want to market the TLD image globally since we now distribute worldwide," Troy adds. "Plus it gives us a great opportunity to show off the expansion of our product line that now encompasses a new clothing line and street applications in addition to our core motocross gear and helmet lines."

Festooned in TLD ‘Rizla’ colors will be veteran Loris Capirossi of Italy making his record 300th MotoGP appearance. Now 37, Capirossi will be teamed with a young racer in his rookie MotoGP season, Alvaro Bautista of Spain.

Be sure to tune into Speed TV this weekend to see the TLD/Rizla ‘Blue Man Group’ of Capirossi and Bautista, the best looking team on the grid, in action!
